HCM Shotcrete assisted Silverline Construction in the construction of a nickle plating machine pit at the UTAS landing gear plant. The machine pit was built in the center of an operating landing gear manufacturing facility. Access to the plant was limited to a man door 110m from the work area.
HCM placed shotcrete directly against a shale excavation eliminating the need for any formwork. Finished surfaces were maintained within a tolerance of 12mm over the 35m length and 12m width of the pit.
Shotcrete was the easiest, cleanest, and fastest way to place concrete for machine pit walls. Concrete was successfully pumped to a hoarded area with no disruption to production in a sensitive manufacturing environment.
