Project Description

HCM Shotcrete assisted Ontario Northland Transportation Commission with the restoration of an existing reinforced concrete rail bridge in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. HCM Shotcrete’s work included concrete removals, reinforcing steel preparation, concrete replacement, and rip rap placement.
Due to the remote nature of Ontario Northland’s rail assets, the work site was only accessible via high rail access equipment (rail access). Although this project did not require shotcrete placement techniques, difficulties associated with site access and concrete placement allowed HCM Shotcrete to leverage team resources including in house engineering and highly trained and
adaptable construction crews.
HCM Shotcrete completed all access, repairs and rip rap placement on schedule and within budget.
