Project Description
RWH Engineering and HCM assisted Ledcor with the design and construction of a permanent retaining wall related to their VW Autohaus project in Barrie, Ontario. RWH designed a permanent caisson wall shoring system complete with shotcrete facing and HCM completed the construction of these elements.
Ledcor’s client required maximum utilization of the site. In order to minimize loss of useful land area, RWH designed a slim shotcrete faced shoring system to be installed in lieu of the originally specified block retaining wall. RWH’s design saved approximately 150 square feet of the site for useful purpose.
Shotcrete facing provided an aesthetically pleasing permanent wall that exceeds specification requirements and saves space. The application of RWH/HCM design build in this project was key to making the project a success for Ledcor and their client.
